Fitment: The headlight switch is held in place by a grub screw and the indicator and wiper end caps simply click into place. The components are machined from billet aluminium and they have rounded edges and indented ends on the wiper and indicator end caps. This roof console is shaped to suit the contours of the standard blue/grey headlining Storage in the cabin area of a Defender is minimal with very few places to put things, any additional space that can be created is a real bonus especially if it doesn’t cramp the driving space. The Terrafirma roof consoles are the perfect solution for tucking away maps, pens and cigarettes, even small binoculars and a folding saw can be stashed away in the reversible trap door storage tray. The console has provision for an additional or repositioned original interior light, space for power sockets and a single DIN radio aperture with removable panel which can either be used for additional storage, to house a CB or CD player or even for extra gauges. All of the existing holes on the sills line up with these doors threshers so they are a quick, easy bolt on project. The door threshers are made from stainless steel 304 grade bright annealed 1.5mm thick and are laser cut and CNC pressed. Stainless steel fixings are supplied. The two side sections are designed to hold anything from maps to sunglasses, documents to magazines. The console is supplied in three separate pieces. The product has been designed with CAD software and the moulding finished off using CNC machinery to ensure an OE level fit and finish to the product. It is supplied with a DIN blanking panel but the central binnacle will fit any DIN sized accessory such as a stereo, CB/HAM radio or even a digital tachograph. The single DIN aperture will also accept a bank of seven Carling Technologies switches by using the Carling interlocking switch mounts. Will the Defender roof console fit my vehicle? The console has been designed to fit all post 1983 Defender models without a sunroof and with a factory headlining. The fixing method does not require removal or cutting of the headlining or sun visors. (Some later models will require trimming of the central area of the headlining when fitting a DIN unit). If you have a non-factory headlining it is unlikely it will fit without modification of the headlining. If you have a Series vehicle, again it is unlikely it will fit without modification. -
